I really don’t need to elaborate on how awesome it is to spend yet another day with mr. jay reilly. Really. He’s amazing. It’s not hard to describe why I’m attracted to Jay as a mentor and inspirational photographer. His work speaks for itself; clean, beautiful, timeless, emotive and just plain ol good. But, most of all, I agree. I agree with his love of photography, his willingness to share and his obsession with photographing. He does it for the love it and then the livelihood {finance} follows, as a sweet reward.
Here are a few images from a Saturday spent in Oceanside with a Jay Reilly Workshop. Take One. Soon.
(I’m starting to write with proper punctuation again. Capitals were they belong, must be the influence of having to work again. Boo. Save me)

my favorite of the day. simple, but sweet.
Were we at the same workshop? I admire the heck out of you and haven’t stopped talking about your talent. I guess I can stop because your photos speak for themselves. I have one word….. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! xo
good stuff 🙂 that last one is so sweet. isn’t Jay great?!
that last one IS so cute 🙂 great job!
the light in these are amazing!
These are beyond CUUUUUTE Jen! You just have a knack with kids, both small and big ones, young and old :). Their smiles are priceless and so is your photography.
Wow, Jen these are amazing! I have to agree on that last one, it’s my fav too! -Mike
wow..these images are amazing. I am wondering if I was at that same workshop as well 😉
Oh Jen I LOVE LOVE LOVE these!!! So natural. Kids being kids. Great job!
These are all soooo great! I love how they all tell a story and they have that editorial look to them which I am in love with. My favorite one is the one with kid looking through the viewfinder and you are mainly focused on their hand. So awesome!
Amazing work!
Beautiful Jen,
Your work is progressing every time I stop by your blog!
You have really captured real, vivid moments here, and look at your use of the light, awesome!
I’m so glad to see photographers like you, who are not afraid to also work in harsh sunlight instead of always putting the subjects in open shade. This gives your images a fresh look. Keep it up, Jen.
Oh, and girl, am I jealous or what, of the temperatures you have in California at this time of year… We still have night frost here so every morning I have to get my car free from ice, while fighting off the polar bears…
Berrrrrrrrry!!!!!!! =) i love these, seriously sooo CUTE! i love the label “not my kids” @ the bottom, haha, that made me laugh! I think your fav is my fav! just sooo delightfully sweet! xoxo
too cute! Love the one of the two fierce girls on their skateboards!!!

These are gorgeous!!! You are soooo lucky you got to go to this workshop! Jay is seriously the best… I agree with all of your words about him. I love every single one of these image! Very nice work!!!
You get better every time I see one of your pictures. More confident. More creative. Looking back at these, I realize how amazing they are. And not at all looking like they were shot with a group. These are truly your own. Shoot shoot shoot.
